Making a cat throw up safely can be important in emergencies, such as ingesting toxins. Follow these steps to induce vomiting at home:
- Consult your veterinarian first.
- Use 3% hydrogen peroxide: Measure 1 teaspoon per 5 pounds of body weight, with a maximum of 3 teaspoons.
- Administer hydrogen peroxide orally using a syringe or dropper.
- Allow 10–15 minutes for the cat to vomit.
- If vomiting doesn’t occur, do not repeat the dose. Contact your vet immediately.
Note: Never use salt, syrup of ipecac, or any other substances without veterinary guidance.
